Tasting Notes

Chateau Bellefont-Belcier is a seductive wine to keep, with a beautiful intense ruby color, with notes of black fruits. Nose of blackcurrant and blackberry. On the palate, Château Bellefont-Belcier 2015 is powerful, concentrated and of great finesse with a nice length. The wine is fleshy, greedy, sunny, slightly spicy.

Critic Reviews:

JAMES SUCKLING – 95

Love the nose of blackberries, black truffles, oyster shell and wet earth. Full-bodied, layered and fantastic. Firm and silky tannins and a juicy finish. Gorgeous complexity. Drink in 2020. James Suckling February 2018

VINOUS – 93

ROBERTPARKER.COM – 90

The 2015 Bellefont Belcier is a blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 20 months in 80% new and 20% one-year-old barrels. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it has lovely cassis, red currant and black
raspberries scents with touches of underbrush, pencil lead and dried herbs. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm, chewy and rich with good expression and a long
earthy finish. Lisa Perotti-Brown February 20

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER – JEFF LEVE – 93

The blend of flowers and truffle on the nose gets you going. The fruit is ripe, sweet, round and soft. There is freshness, elegance and loads of ripe juicy, fresh fruits from start to finish. This is a good wine, giving the equally strong 2016 a run for the money However, things should get even better here, as the winery was recently sold to Peter Kwok, who already owns numerous, Right Bank vineyards.
Stay tuned ! Jeff Leve May 20
