Critic Reviews

James Suckling: 91 Points

A riper expression of Pauillac, this carries poached plums, black cherry compote and blackberries on smooth, rich and velvety tannins. Softer and riper style here. Try from 2020

VertdeVin: 92 Points

The nose is fruity and offers a slight gourmandise as well as a slight concentration. It reveals notes of ripe wild strawberries, ripe redcurrant and blackberries combined with hints of racy minerality, violet as well as subtle hints of crushed blueberry and subtle touches of vanilla. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well-built and offers juiciness, a slight freshness, a good definition, a slight acid frame, a good grain, a good juiciness, finesse as well as a slight fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, wild strawberry and redcurrant combined with slight toasted touches, vanilla as well as a subtle hint of liquorice stick and discreet hints of minerality. Tannins are well-built. There is a subtle hint of vanilla / almond on the aftertaste.

Description

Chateau Tour Sieujean

Château Tour Sieujean is a family wine estate located in the commune of Saint-Laurent-du-Médoc, in the south-west of the Pauillac appellation. Its vines cover 8 hectares in Pauillac and Haut-Médoc. This domain is one of the very last domains with a family dimension among the many Grands Crus of Pauillac – there are 18 in total and represent 85% of the area of the appellation.

The 10th century feudal tower watches over this vineyard planted on sumptuous gravelly hilltops and worked like a garden. The mild temperatures and the sunshine due to the local micro-climate allow the vines of Château Tour Sieujean to reach good maturity to produce wines for laying down. We work the vines and produce wines in accordance with Médoc tradition.
