Marqués de Araiz (Marques De Araiz)
The name Marqués de Araiz, comes from the name of one noble who lived in this area, former province of Logroño (now La Rioja state). He owned rich plots of land, perfect for agricultural production. The Fernández de Manzanos family, that knew about the potential of this land, decided to purchase them and plant vineyards. The wine obtained from the harvesting this grapes was so good that the marqués wanted to lend them his name. A name that is maintained now as well.
